UPDATE 1 RELEASED, INFO ON BOTTOM OF THIS POST!!! It's done. F.E.A.R ambience sound pack for Natural-Selection. All files edited and mixed by me. Readme: QUOTE NS F.E.A.R Sound Pack v1.0 Done by Porcupine Floyd This sound pack contains some sounds extracted from F.E.A.R, and edited by me to fit Natural-Selection. I have found while playing F.E.A.R, that it has the best atmospheric sounds up to date, so I decided to edit them and realease as a sound pack. Most ambience files are heavily edited and remixed by me (including the flag project - atmospheric.mp3 which has been mixed down using many effects and sample files, creating main NS ambient file), but there are some which are just downsampled to 22KHz, and equalized (like weapon sounds). Also - my biggest motivation were .mp3 files in ambience folder, which means I could mix new ones in CD quality (44100Hz, 16 bit, stereo), and I did a lot experimenting with reverberation and channel balance. Hope you'll like it! I'm planning to release v2.0 of this sound pack later, with more sounds. This pack is free, I am taking no personal or money goods by releasing it. It is just made for fun, and to extend my sound editing skills. Any questions or suggestions: Write - rogacz87@go2.pl or rogacz@halflife.pl Have fun with it! ... Oh... I forgot (IMG:http://www.nsmod.org/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Installation (IMG:http://www.nsmod.org/forums/style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) Just put the unzipped "Sound" folder into C:\Program Files\Steam\Steamapps\e-mail\half-life\ns\ overwriting everything. Also, don't forget to make backup! Alternate download link: http://rapidshare.de/files/13410260/NS_FEA...R_SNDS.ZIP.html Have fun! UPDATE 1: Ok, it's time for first update. It's not much really, only few sounds, and those aren't only from F.E.A.R. It's extremaly hard to find some sounds that would fit for example Fade metabolize sound, so I decided to modify existing ones. There are some reload sounds (For users using MP7 model also), one new ambient (triad generator in eclipse), new shell falling sounds and clean siege ping. Hope you'll like them! So far only rapidshare link, but I hope that mods will host the file on this site, it's 1.1 MB only ;-). This post has been edited by Depot: Jun 7 2006, 07:56 AM

Sorry, but I can't find a better host for this. Maybe I'll try fileplanet, but it won't help much :S Any comments like: This sound is too loud, this one sucks, this one has too big reverb - are appreciated. I'm happy to see that someone likes it ;-) This post has been edited by Rogacz: Feb 20 2006, 03:32 AM |

About the weapon firing sounds : - Pistol : good - Light machine gun : awesome - Shotgun : nice, but it misses the real feeling of shooting 8 bullets at the same time with a big b00m, you should make the shotgun sound louder(it isnt bad, but it's so quiet and it doesnt feel like a shotgun) |

Thanks for all of your replies guys! I'll try to do something with the shotty, but it's not so easy, because of low sampling rate (22050 Hz). It's hard to avoid clipping, but I'll do my best. Also - thanks for hosting :-) I'll keep you informed if I do something more. Thanks! |

The sounds I put on from this sound great, all except for the HA adjustment (didn't sound good in my opinion) and the change of the voicechats (They dont in my opinion suit NS)
